What a fun game to watch!

Finally, a Hoosier recruit who actually lived up to the hype. Hasn’t happened since – who, Damon Bailey? I had fun watching IU come back in the second half against the Mocs. I also had fun watching Eric Gordon break the scoring record for a Hoosier in their debut game by scoring 33 points. Now that was fun to watch.

Oh, wait.

No it wasn’t. I couldn’t watch it because the Big(11)Ten Network and Comcast can’t act like mature adults and come to an agreement. Hey Comcast, I can name about 20 channels on my package that I’d gladly give up (including Logo, Current, Hallmark, and all of the shopping networks) because I don’t watch them and don’t plan on ever watching them. Just get the deal done, already!

And Big(11)Ten, you’re not innocent in all of this, either. Maybe you shoulda thought ahead before you came up with this grand scheme of creating your own network. Yeah, it was probably a good idea to make sure the cable providers in one of your larger concentrations of a fan base would be interested in something like that.

So, we moved back to Indiana and I was all excited because I figured I’d be able to watch IU basketball whenever I wanted instead of driving to a clear spot and hoping I could pick up the Ft. Wayne radio station in my car. No such luck. I’m back to trying to find a place in our house with good radio reception because the Ft. Wayne station doesn’t carry the basketball games anymore. The closest station that does carry the game is an FM station in Indy. Indy FM stations are very difficult to get around here. So even though I’m only a few hours from Assembly Hall, I still have to settle for a fuzzy radio broadcast. Good thing Don and Todd are actually enjoyable to listen to.

Hey Big(11)Ten! Hey Comcast! Stop your posturing and get this thing fixed already. The only people this is hurting is the conference and the cable company.

Oh yeah, and the real people. You know – the fans and customers? You’re definitely hurting us, too.
