“Punishment”

Last night was the monthly Board Meeting at church. Because of that, I was gone most of the evening. Apparently, the kids bickered and fought all night long. It was so bad that Christy finally told them that there would be no TV or computer today when they got home from school.

In addition, Christy created a list of things they are to do this afternoon/evening that will force them to work together. Some things are chores, like sweep the kitchen and gather up the trash. Others are supposed to be more fun, like work together to assemble a puzzle. Yes, my wife is quite creative. And I love it! It kinda makes me think of those team-building exercises they made us do while hiking at Philmont.

The afternoon already started off with one of the kids bossing the other one around and the other one arguing back. I intervened and told them they’re going to have to figure out how to work together this afternoon or it’s going to be a very long day for them. They seem to have gotten the message.

We’ll see how it goes…
