Anniversary

Thanks to the generosity of some church members, we were treated to dinner a The Tavern tonight. It was a 45 minute drive to get there, but it was worth it!

Christy had the stuffed Filet Mignon, and I tried the rack of lamb. The lamb had a good flavor, but I think it was overpowered by the sauce (it included mint and lavender…an interesting flavor, to say the least). I also had a glass of Greg Norman Cabernet-Merlot with my dinner. Of course, we wound up sharing everything, including the wine. I thought Christy wouldn’t like it because it wasn’t fruity enough. She liked it, though. Her filet was fan-tab-u-lous! It left me thinking I should have gotten a filet, too. Of course, if I did that, then I would be kicking myself for not trying the lamb.

We topped it off by sharing a piece of Boston cream poundcake and a slice of toffee cheesecake.

Yes. We were pigs. It was quite tasty, though.

Thanks to all who suggested creative ideas for our anniversary! I have them tucked away in the back of my brain and will remember those suggestions at a later date!
