“Let’s race!”

A neighbor’s dog wandered into our yard this afternoon. Alyson has taken a giant liking to all things dog. Needless to say, she played with this dog the whole time he was over here – until she wanted to race.

She turned to the dog (a Jack Russell Terrier) and said, “Come on, doggie – let’s race!” She started to run, while her head was still turned towards the dog.

Crash!

She ran right into the tricycle and flipped over it, headfirst into the grass. It’s unfortunate she got hurt, or it would have been really funny! She had just finished saying “race” when she got entangled in the trike. The handlebar smacked her on the bridge of the nose, just millimeters away from her eye. Then it would have been something serious. Fortunately, she just wound up with a boo-boo on her nose, and quite a few tears.

She’s OK now – after much drama.

Oh, Alyson – what would we do to keep things interesting without her?
