Starting on the wrong foot
In Greek this semester, we’ve been working through the Gospel of John. It was common knowledge that today’s final would involve chapters we had already translated in class. So – we were supposed to translate John chapter 10. Jesus says some funky stuff in this chapter, by the way.
So I’m going along and I don’t recognize a thing in the translation. I work through it as much as I can. Nothing is matching up with my notes and it really looks odd to me. I did this for about a half an hour.
Then I realized I had been translating Luke 10, not John 10. Everyone else had 2 hours to do their final. I only had 1 1/2 hours, thanks to that blunder. I managed to get it done, but not as well as I could have, since I felt a little rushed.
Christian Tradition – that’s a different story. I feel pretty good about it. There were a few that stumped me, but not many. That’s not a bad feeling.
