Going Bowling
Yes, it’s still too soon to start making plans to attend a bowl game featuring the Hoosiers this year. I get that. I agree. There have been historic meltdowns in the program before, crushing any hopes of a bowl bid for those of us who are dedicated enough to even call ourselves IU football fans. That being said, the Hoosiers are on a mission to Play 13, and with Ohio State and Michigan off their schedule and the rest of the Big(greedy)Ten supposedly being ‘down’ this year, it definitely still seems like a possibility.
So – with visions of bowling dancing in our heads, the question has been raised, “Would you even go if they went to a bowl?” Although playing somewhere like Florida or Arizona would be a much more attractive offering, there’s a big part of me that hopes the go to the Motor City Bowl (again, if they qualify for a bowl). Detroit’s not too far from us. I know a few people in the area, so we might be able to crash with them (it would be good to see them, too), and the tickets are affordable.
So – that’s my preference. It’s totally selfish, but that’s OK. Like I said, it would probably be better for everyone else if they went somewhere with warmer weather, but a bowl’s a bowl. And if I can attend one, that would make me very happy. Of course, my biggest concern is that the Hoosiers just Play 13 this year.
