Kentucky Horse Park (part 3)
Apparently, these chairs were used in a steeplechase event and they held up some of the obstacles that the horses had to jump over. We thought they’d make a pretty good prop for a picture of Mom and the kids.
What else is Kentucky known for besides bluegrass and horses?
That’s right! Bourbon.
So, when we came across a row of three bourbon barrels in the middle of the Kentucky Horse Park, we weren’t really that shocked. I mean, it is Kentucky. And Kentucky is known for its bourbon. Why not put a few empty barrels in the middle of a horse park? Makes sense, doesn’t it? So, we posed for a few pictures.
**Please don’t interpret these pictures as our advocating the consumption of bourbon!**
I’ve tasted bourbon before. It tastes nasty. As my dad once said (about a different drink), it tastes like you’re drinking out of a dirty sock! In no way would I ever encourage anyone to actually drink the contents of a bourbon barrel.
In spite of the purpose of said barrels, we thought the pictures turned out rather well. We even had a guy come up and offer to take a picture of the whole family posing around a barrel. Looks like we hit the jackpot!
