Read any good books lately?

I started reading Tom Clancy’s Red Storm Rising last week after we returned from our Charleston trip. It was written twenty years ago, but the opening premise could have come from recent events – Muslim extremists blowing up a refinery in Russia. Not too far outside of the realm of possibility. Change a few names and the novel could easily be applied to current times…Spooky!

It’s a thick book, but I’ve gone through the pages rather quickly. I’m almost halfway through it and I don’t want to put it down. Every time I think how’s he going to keep this up for another 500 pages, and then he throws in some other twist, making it all the more interesting.

Tom Clancy is my new hero. I’ve read several of his books and they’re rivetting! The man knows how to write, that’s for sure.
