A Question of Semantics
For my Second Temple Jewish Lit. final, I had to compare & contrast Ben Sira with the Egyptian Satire of the Trades. In the essay, I wrote:
The two differ, however, in that the Satire is just that – satire (although biblical scholars tend to read it literally). As a satire, it puts down the role of the artisan and props up the scribe.
The person grading said final took off two points and wrote, “It was meant to be a humorous scribal propaganda.”
Isn’t that what I just said?
I’m not going to complain all that much. Two points wouldn’t have changed my grade any. I’m just curious if I’m wrong.

Granted, I’m not as edumakated as you are, but that sounds like that’s what you said.
