Textual Criticism

When it comes to Old Testament textual criticism, “Emmanuel Tov is the Man!” ~ Rollston

and

“Metzger has the ability to make textual criticism fun.” ~ Rollston

I think I’ve been studying for this Second Temple Jewish Lit. test for too long. I’m starting to find comments like these extremely funny. In fact, they’re so funny that I want to share them with everyone else. I think it’s hilarious that someone would call anyone “the Man” in the field of textual criticism.

And if Dr. Metzger can make textual criticism fun, then sign me up. While I think some of it is interesting, “fun” is not the word I’d use to describe textual criticism. Dr. Hull studied under Metzger. He makes the class interesting…almost enjoyable at times (but not now, since the Greek final is tomorrow), but “fun” is hardly the word I’d use to describe textual criticism.

Good thing I wasn’t planning on making a living in the field of textual criticism, huh?
