Not a good way to start the day…
We spent the night in the new house last night. All of the major furniture has been moved – thanks to Blair on Monday and Gary on Tuesday! There is still a lot of moving to do, but the big stuff is completed. The kids slept on the floor in our room last night. Aly called it a “Slimmer Party.”
So I get to school this morning and realize that my Greek books and notes are over at the old apartment. Instead of being right on time, I was going to be a few minutes late. When I got into the apartment, I managed to slice open the index finger on my right hand. How did I do this, you ask? With my left hand’s thumbnail! It’s not that long, but I guess it’s pretty sharp, because my finger bled..
and bled…
and bled…
while I scrambled through the clutter that is our apartment (that happens when you move – the clutter gets a little worse before it’s better) searching for a band-aid. Needless to say, by the time I got the hemorrhaging to stop, I was going to be painfully late to Greek. And I really didn’t want to explain the why I was late at that point. It’s a little embarrassing when you slice your hand open with your own fingernail.
Gotta go to work. Hopefully, this was the only accident of the day!

sleuthing abilities!
You are correct! Tobin lost his entire fingernail the other day on his pointer finger (don’t ask…but it involves his big sis getting in some major trouble…) and then, just to finish the job – he decided to touch the hot element on my flat top stove – HUGE blister on the same finger. Screaming, wailing, etc…you know the drill – and the moment that Melagel and/or T36-C5 went on there, the screaming ceased. Gotta love that. Yes – put it on your list. Totally worth it for EVERYTHING painful! Congrats on your new house – how fun!
Re: sleuthing abilities!
Sounds like Tobin had “fun” that day!
Got anything for poison ivy? I think I might have rubbed up against some the same day I sliced my finger – yeah, that was a great day…
I’m not sure if I actually have poison ivy, but I’ve got some bumps popping up and they look awfully familiar. Problem is, it usually doesn’t take this long for me to react to poison ivy.
