Firefighters to the Rescue!
Before our party began, a 2 year old managed to lock himself in the bathroom. After several minutes of his mom trying to coach his unlocking skills, we decided it was time to break into the door (it was a deadbolt lock…what were they thinking?). Those of us with tools in our trunks ranand got them. After a few unsuccessfull attempts, we decided call the authorities and get someone out there who could help.
The police showed up and stopped us from using a crowbar to bust into the door.
Then the firefighters showed up with their lock-busting tools. While it was stressful because the mom and son were panicking, it was still pretty cool to see how they bust into a door.
So, with the cake-tastrophe (see below, a policeman, and the firefighters…
I’d say Aly’s birthday was memorable, to say the least.

Why do I miss all the best parties?
That’s because you choose to be a responsible student and actually study instead of partying like a rockstar.
I had no idea that rockstars partied by melting cake keepers in the oven and locking small children in restrooms. The stuff you don’t know when you aren’t from Hollywood.
Rock Stars
Haven’t you ever watched Behind the Music? The downward spiral into drug and alcohol abuse always begins when the star begins to plan a My Little Pony party at the park. Then the melted cake plate and the locked children always push the poor sap over the edge.
Somewhere along the way, vomit is involved. Usually the rock star is waking up in a pool of it, but there are several cases where it involves someone else’s sickness. This is where my order of things is reversed. The vomit came before the My Little Pony party.
After several years of wandering around in the world of being a “has-been,” the star inevitably makes a comeback and enjoys success for years to come.
I’m just sitting around, waiting for my resurgence to come.
