Speaking of Jason Collier

OK, so I really wasn’t talking about Jason Collier in the journal, but I want to talk about him for a minute, anyway.

About a week and a half (maybe two weeks) ago, I was thinking about IU basketball – probably because college basketball practices officially began last week. So, I was thinking back to the final years of the Knight regime and how it wasn’t really the bed of roses Knight apologists make it out to be. Then I thought about all of the defections from the Hoosiers during the mid to late 90s. The transfers of Luke Recker and Neil Reed disappointed Hoosier fans the most. When you talk about star players who left, Jason Collier would rarely be mentioned by Hoosier fans that I know – even though he was really good.

(I told you my ADD was going in overdrive)

Then I thought, I wonder what Collier is up to now. He went to Georgia Tech, didn’t he? Did he ever do anything in the NBA?

Then, I got my answer while listening to sports talk radio Saturday afternoon.

May God comfort his wife and daughter during this terribly tough time.
