Happy New Year!
For the last nine years, September 11 has been marked by mourning and reflection as we remember the terrible events that happened that clear Tuesday morning.
But that’s not the only thing that’s recognized on September 11. In the Ethiopian calendar, September 11 is New Year’s Day!
When we were in Ethiopia last year, we missed the festivities by just a few days. Some decorations remained, as you can see in the picture above that was taken in Durame.
