Vacation Recap
Although I’ve already shared a few pictures from our Florida vacation here and here, I probably should start at the very beginning when recapping the trip. It is, after all, a very good place to start.
It started off quite memorably. Before we even left the city, the kids were given bags o’ goodies from a lady in our congregation. She does the same thing for her grandchildren whenever they go on long trips. The kids loved them. It certainly made the trip a little easier for Alyson. She’s such a free-spirit that she hates to be tied down for such a long time. She loves exploring, but doesn’t like having to sit for so long in order to explore. So, her bag certainly helped. Aiden liked his bag, too. But I wasn’t as concerned about him. All you really have to do for him is just plug him in to an mp3 player and he’s as happy as a clam (until he needs to make a pit-stop). Remember our trip to Tennessee last year?
The highlight of the gift bags was the goggles they got. They couldn’t wait to put them on!
Traveling to Florida was full of surprises, from seeing a church friend we hadn’t seen in 7 years in our hotel Lobby on Friday night, to driving through flash floods in a construction zone with sheets of rain falling on us, to getting bad directions from Mapquest – it was definitely a memorable way to begin a memorable vacation!

Im actually watching Alyson play in the backyard with the boys right now and she is such a free spirit. She had told me about your trip and I asked about her birthday last night. She was so excited to share. I have been to Florida once and I loved it down there. I would love to live there eventually even if it is when I retire one day..lol.
