Citizenship
In honor of Independence Day, I present to you this Citizenship Quiz. Here are some of the things I’m curious about: 1) If anyone who reads this will actually take the test, and 2) How you did if you took it.
If you take it, post your results in my comments.

Howdy. I'm Matt. My wife, Christy, and I have four kids and two dogs, I'm passionate about orphan care. I'm a die-hard fan of the Evansville Aces, the Indiana Hoosiers, and Star Wars. I'm trying to live life by the Todd family motto: "It behooves us to live!"

Hi Matt,
I missed one question on the citizenship quiz–the one about which form to use if applying for citizenship (whew!). I can’t believe people could miss these questions. What are they learning in civics courses? I see you all are leaving again soon. Blessings on you all!

Yeah, that’s the one that I missed. I don’t think they should count that one because it really doesn’t have to do with U.S. history or the Constitution, just bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo! So, you got 100% in my book – congratulations!
I thought most of this was very basic information. Sounds pretty scary what people (don’t) remember from government classes.
It’s definitely going to be tough to leave, but we’re excited about what lies ahead of us, too!
Thanks for visiting my Journal – don’t be a stranger!
Re: Citizenship
I’m embarrassed to admit that I too got an 80% on the quiz (but I got the question about the form right!). Stupid test!
Re: Citizenship
hmmm…You might have to give back your Eagle medal. I’ll have to check on that.
Did you guys get the same ones wrong? Were you cheating off your wife??
You should pass this link along to Grant & Joy and Matt & Shannon to see how they do. Or are you scared they’ll make you look bad? 🙂
The Quiz
I got an 80%. Admittedly, many of my answers were “educated guesses” and without the choices, I would have failed miserably. I feel like a terrible citizen, but then I just consider that I did better than many Americans would and… I feel better. That’s terrible.

Re: The Quiz
You’re starting to worry me about what you’re going to teach our children.
😉
Just kidding
I know you’re going to be a fabulous teacher!!
Re: Just kidding
I don’t think we should be worrying about what I’ll be teaching children in Social Studies.. I can always look that stuff up.. It’s the math we should be concerned about. Let’s pray for my future students.. I doubt many of them will go into accounting or any other math related field..
90%. I missed the ones about the naturalization form and declaring war.
War!
With everyone saying this is “Bush’s war,” I figure a lot of people miss this one. Technically, Iraq is not a war because war has not been declared. If it were a war, it would be “The Republican Congress’s war,” which doesn’t fit onto a bumper sticker as easily.
Either way, it’s a mess – but that’s beside the point.
Congrats on being a good citizen 😉
citizenship quiz
I missed the one referring to the form….. why would any natural-born citizen need – or want – to know that?
Anyway, all things said and done, that was the only incorrect answer, so I am reporting 95%……
