Soccer Time!
The kids started their soccer season this year. Aly is old enough to play this year and she’s on the same team as Aiden. That’s a very good thing. They weren’t on the field at the same time, but that will happen soon, I think. Here are a few pictures from opening day. If you have a fee Saturday during the next two months, you should come watch them play. It’s definitely worth the price of admission (which happens to be free)!
Aly on the field for the first time. Look at that intensity in her eyes. She definitely has her game face on.
Aiden on a breakaway for a goal.
Goooaaallll!! Yes, he does a little celebration dance after every goal. I’ll do my best to get it on video before he’s penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct or something. Or take away one of his stars. That would be the ultimate punishment.
Aly looks like a soccer player in these pictures, doesn’t she? She spent almost as much time kicking the ball as she did helping her opponents up off the ground. I’ve never seen her try to help other people as much in my life! She must have been trying to earn the “Christ-likeness” star today. And yes, that’s the star she wound up getting today.
Aly eventually got bored – as most kids do. She decided to play the final minutes of the game as a cheetah. The amazing thing is that another girl decided to join her!

Re: Cheetah
It’s classic Aly, isn’t it? It’s almost time to create a “top ten” Alyson moments.
I don’t know if I can limit it to ten, though!
Re: Cheetah
Don’t forget this one:
Matt/Christy: “Alyson, do you want a spankin?”
Alyson: “Yesh.”
I remember this from when she was really little–I think you guys were threatening her for climbing on things.. It was as though she weighed in her mind whether a spankin would be worth the climbing. 🙂 LOVE her.
