In the Newspaper

When Aiden had his basketball team banquet, we were told that the team picture would be submitted to the Elizabethton Star. For about two weeks, Aiden would ask several times a day when he would be in the newspaper. We had to keep telling him, “I don’t know.” We don’t subscribe to the Star, and no one has bothered to tell us when the picture was supposed to be published.

About a week ago, Aiden started talking about being in the newspaper again. “I can’t believe I’m in the newspaper,” he kept telling me.

I thought, “What on Earth is he talking about?” Was he resurrecting the question about his team picture after it had been dormant for so long? So I asked him what he was talking about.

I’ve been working on getting out a newsletter, From the Mountaintop, to our prayer supporters who are not subscribed to the newsletter that is emailed monthly. It’s about three pages and has no new information if you read MattDanTodd Land very much. I’ve included some pictures of the kids doing their various activities.

So – Aiden held up one of the newsletters that was on the coffee table and said, “I can’t believe I’m in the newspaper!”

All I could do was laugh and say, “Yep, that’s right!” What else was I supposed to say? I mean, it is a type of newspaper. If it makes him happy, it’s not worth having an argument about semantics, is it?
