Allergies

I think I would breathe better if I cut off my nose.

It’s almost 4 in the morning. I’ve been up for over an hour and I have to get up in just a few more hours for school. I’ve taken Benadryl, but it’s not helping. It probably won’t kick in until Greek starts – just my luck!

Greek – how am I going to be able to function for the quiz? Fortunately, it’s review and I readily recognize more words for this week than I did last week.

Gotta blow my nose…again

………

I’m back now.

Of course, my mind is stuck in the “Worrying about not getting enough sleep which keeps me from getting sleep” mode. I usually have that happen before I’m gonna drive a long distance (i.e. Evansville or Indy). It normally doesn’t happen to me in regards to school.

Maybe the Benadryl has taken some effect and just made me delirious without blocking the allergens. That’s just what I need – something to make me even more crazy.

OK, so I’m rambling. You just gotta do it sometimes, don’t you? After all, it’s almost 4 a.m.

I think I’m gonna go find something to chop off my nose. I need something quiet, so I don’t wake up Christy or the kids. It wouldn’t freak the kids out too much if I came home from school tomorrow without a nose, would it?

Of course, my eyes itch too. Maybe I should pluck them out.

Nah, I’ll start with my nose. Maybe Dr. Hull will give me a pass on the Greek quiz if I show up to class without my nose. Maybe I should ask him what the ancient Greeks used for antihistamines, because modern medicine definitely ain’t working.

I’m gonna sleep on the couch the rest of the night. That way, I don’t wake up Christy with my continual nose-blowing.

Yes, I’m whining. What do you expect…it’s 4 o’clock in the freakin’ morning!!

On a totally unrelated note, Thursday is my last day at the warehouse. It just isn’t going to work with my school schedule. Mondays are the longest days there, and I need to be somewhat coherent for Greek at 8 the next morning. Two days after I gave them my two weeks’ notice, they hired my replacement. I’ve been “training” him for the past week and imparted all of my wisdom upon him. So, I still have to work with him the rest of the week – we’ll do twice the work in half the time, or something like that. The end result is I’ll be coming home much earlier every day this week. That’s fine by me, especially if my allergies will keep me up all night.

Next week, I start working for Emmanuel’s maintenance/grounds/cleaning/whatever-else-is-needed crew. It’s less pay per hour, but it will definitely be more manageable with my schedule.

OK, enough rambling. I’m really going to go find some scissors or something and end my nose’s misery now.
