Why you should Send a Friend Lasagna. Today.

On New Year’s Eve, I entered an Instagram contest. I did it on a whim, but…you know…why not? It’s not like I had anything to lose. I’ve known about Send a Friend Lasagna for a while now. And I’d always planned on giving it a try. I just hadn’t yet. So I entered. After all, if they were already giving a lasagna away, it might as well go to me – right? All I had to do was guess how many pounds of lasagna they delivered in 2020. Without going over.

I guessed 7,000 pounds. I knew that was a lot. But I had a “go big or go home” mentality.

That’s right. I won! I was only nine pounds off. Send a Friend Lasagna had delivered 7,009 pounds of lasagna in 2020.* That’s a whole lot of lasagna!

We decided we wanted to try the meat and cheese lasagna. I gave Stephanie my order and address. We scheduled a drop off for the next day – New Year’s Day.

After a simple drop off on our porch, we threw our New Year’s lunch in the oven and waited in anticipation of a gooey concoction of pasta, meat, cheese, and sauce. Fortunately, we had the Rose Parade to help distract us from the amazing smells that were flowing from our kitchen. I’m not gonna lie. My stomach grumbled its displeasure at having to wait. Our whole family was eager to try it.

Y’all.

Seriously.

It was worth the wait. We’re big lasagna fans. This has to be the best we’ve ever had. It was packed with meat and the exact right amount of cheesy goodness. It was great. We can’t wait to have some more!

*When I thought about my guess, I couldn’t help but think of Harry Chapin’s 30,000 Pounds of Bananas. I found myself singing it over and over again. I’m glad I didn’t guess 30,000 pounds, though.

+ Hey, wait a second. How come I’m not your favorite blogger? What can I do to fix that?
