Dance Dance Dance
Shortly after I invited everyone to join us in a little dance party to celebrate our becoming a family of six, we visited the Indianapolis Zoo. It was an unseasonably warm day and I think half of Indy wound up visiting the zoo. But do you know what we saw while we were there?
Well….animals, of course.
But do you know what those animals were doing?
Elephants were swaying their heads. Some other animals might have even been tapping their toes.
Flamingos were shaking their shoulders and nodding their heads – not too unlike the dancing we saw at 2000 Habesha. Right?
The monkeys were singing a happy song and flying through the trees.
So one can only conclude that the residents of our local zoo decided to join in the celebration and have their own dance party. Right?
So, here’s the deal…
If the Animal Kingdom is going to dance and celebrate, what are you waiting for? The dance party is growing. It’s spreading throughout Central Indiana. And around the world. So let’s do it. Let’s dance, you dancing machines.
Dance like no one’s watching.
Dance like you’re up on stage.
Dance with your moves like Jagger.
Or do a ballroom waltz.
I don’t care.
Just.
Dance.
You don’t have to post a video.
Just do it.
Just.
Dance.
We have a lot to celebrate. I hope you join in the fun.

Each of my kids has a song. When they respectively come up on our Pandora station, we all drop what we are doing and dance to them(often with kids in our arms.) Wife and I are in our 40’s and wish they had picked shorter songs.
The other day, Ho Hey – Annabelle’s song came on in a local Starbucks. She is 3 and wanted to dance, darnit. We found a back corner and obliged – a bit toned down from our normal dancing.
That’s awesome. When a kid says to dance, you’ve gotta dance! Sounds like you’re raising your kids right.
