Walmart is making a difference this Mother’s Day
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart and Walmart Foundation. All opinions are 100% mine.
I don’t know about you, but helping my kids find a gift for Mother’s Day is a bit of a challenge every year. I know we could go out and simply buy the first stuffed animal that says “mom” on it and call it a day, but I think it’s important to give gifts that show you’ve put some thought into it. I also think it’s a great opportunity to support smaller business and make a difference both locally and around the world. That’s why I’m excited to about Walmart’s Empowering Women Together initiative.
What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than by empowering women around the world to pursue their dreams? What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than by reminding our own children that they can make a difference in the world around them by making wise choices with their money?
It’s well worth your time to head over to Walmart’s Empowering Women Together section and read some of the inspiring stories that they tell. I think my favorite is the story of Leticia Hernandez, a Walmart supplier in Guatemala who has nine women working for her. These women were unemployed and struggling to provide for their families before they started working for Leticia. That’s powerful stuff. And it’s just one way that Walmart is taking corporate responsibility seriously.
In addition to making an impact on the world with our Mother’s Day purchases, the gifts are pretty special, too. Check out a small sampling of the products that are available:
If you’re still searching for that perfect Mother’s Day gift – one that’s different from the standard, predictable Mother’s Day options – I suggest you give Walmart a try. You’re sure to find a memorable gift. It will show the special mom in your life how important she is to you. And you’ll also help change lives by empowering women entrepeneurs in the world around us.
