What a fabulous fishing weekend!
Oh, Bennett Spring, I had forgotten how much I’d missed you.
I had only been fishing there one other time, but I quickly discovered that Bennett is a special, special place. I spent the weekend in Bennett with my Dad, Uncle Don, Jason, Dr. Dave, and a few more of their friends. It was much more relaxing than I had expected. It was also full of crazy card games, some pretty amazing guys, and some fabulous food.
Oh, the food.
That’s gonna be another post all on its own. And it will make your mouth water.
Oh yeah. We also fished. And fished. And fished some more. Some days, the trout were practically jumping into my net. Others? Not so much. But those times were pretty fun, too. Fortunately, we were much more prepared than we were when Mihret caught her surprise fish.
I caught this fish just a few minutes before the Closing Whistle blew. I actually had another fish on my line after this, but it broke my line. The thrill of the catch almost awakens something primal within you. I can see how fishing can become an obsession.
So don’t be surprised if I obsess about fishing for the next few days. It might take that long to decompress.
