Thankful Thursday*
Family Reunions
While braving the 100+ degree weather and baking in a shelter, we ate a bunch of fabulous food (including tamales from Texas, Wolf’s BBQ, fried chicken, cheesy veggie casserole, and Coca Cola cake similar to one my great-grandma used to make), saw some family members I hadn’t seen in 20+ years, reconnected with other family members, and chugged lots and lots of water. I was reintroduced to a Great Uncle of mine who is quite spry for an 80 year old. He inspired us with his stories of post-retirement missions work. Oh – and I got to tell the kids to go jump in the lake.
And they did.
For this weekend, I’m thankful.
