Thankful Thursday (on a Friday)

Snorkeling Aiden

Vacation!

  • Sleeping in a cabin with the family. It’s all the fun of camping without having to set up a tent!
  • S’mores, grilled hot dogs, and mid-morning pizza that was reheated on the fire
  • A wife who can plan out an entire vacation, yet be willing to change itinerary on a moment’s notice
  • A job that I can just leave at the office without having to worry about who’s going to do what or how certain things are going to get done
  • Campfires!
  • Playing Apples to Apples well into the night and laughing until I cannot breathe
  • Beaches, sand, kites, and fishing
  • Visiting a lighthouse that Christy has wanted to see in-person for as long as she can remember
  • A lake that looks like the ocean without the salty smell
  • The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo and Aiden’s newfound interest in World War II aircraft (plus F-14s & SR-71s)
  • Dreading coming home, simply because we didn’t want the fun to end
  • Having to wash my hair three separate times after getting home, just to get the smell of campfire smoke off of me
  • An awesome wife and some pretty amazing kids that make vacations oh-so worth it!

There’ll be more vacation memories shared in detail in the very near future. But for now, I want to say that my heart is full with the memories we made during an amazing four days in Michigan!
