March Madness: Aly’s Picks
Since the Sweet 16 start playing tonight, I guess it’s time to reveal Alyson’s picks. Last year, she make her picks based on the mascots, choosing her favorite animals to win. That might not be a bad strategy. It’s just about as effective as a certain basketball analyst who picked a certain ACC team to beat Louisville in the Final Four. Said ACC team lost in the first round to a certain 13-seeded team from the Horizon League. I can’t remember: Did I mention I got that upset correct? I didn’t think so. The rest of my bracket can fall apart and I’ll view this year as a success just because of that pick. 🙂
Anyway, back to Alyson’s picks…
I think she had Siena winning it all last year. If you know Alyson at all, this isn’t a surprise when you look at Siena’s mascot. It’s nearly impossible to list all of her upsets she picked because…well…she really didn’t care about the numbers beside the teams. That being said, she still managed to have two number one seeds in the Final Four.
Alyson’s Final Four
Connecticut
Pittsburgh
Butler
West Virginia
Connecticut over Butler in the Championship Game.
So, you look down the list and it’s not a surprise: Huskies, Panthers, Bulldogs…Mountaineers???
I asked her a few days ago what a Mountaineer is. She said, “You know – it’s one of those cats with long ears.”
I guess she heard Mountain Ears.
But, you know – she could wind up having more correct Final Four picks than I do.
