Snow Day!
Two days ago, the people who try to predict such things started off by saying we might get something like 3-6 inches of snow. Then the prediction increased to 4-8, with much more further south of us.
They were wrong.
Well, I guess you could technically say they were right. Because you do count to eight before you get to twelve! That’s right, the official measurement for our area came in at 12.8 inches. It’s the largest amount of snowfall the town has received in at least 50 years. Yikes.
Needless to say, the kids didn’t have school yesterday. They tried to do a two-hour delay today, but eventually gave in and canceled.
A farmer-friend of ours showed up on our street last night with his tractor. He cleared off our street and the church parking lot, dumping the leftover snow into our yard. That made for two perfect hills for the kids to play on today. They even tried out the sled.
Now they’re inside, sipping on hot chocolate and wrapped in warm blankets.
And all is right with the world.
