John Williams is (STILL) the Man!
I was listening to a music station I set up with Pandora Radio and was pleasantly surprised to hear the E.T. theme song. If you’re not familiar with Pandora, it takes your musical selections and finds music similar to the preferences you’ve chosen. It’s pretty cool. You should check it out sometime.
After hearing E.T. I found myself humming it (’cause I can’t whistle) the rest of the night. When I woke up this morning, I was still humming it (’cause I still can’t whistle). It’s such a catchy tune and I thought, “Dude! John Williams is the man!”
This, of course, made me think of the video I shared a few months ago called, “John Williams is the Man.” I went to the post and tried to watch the video. Apparently, Warner Music Group doesn’t like playing nice either (like a certain other company…) and has forced youtube to pull the plug on said video.
If you haven’t seen it, or would like to see it again, there’s a copy of the video here. But who knows how long it will be available? It’s pretty funny.
I think the group who performed the song (the guy was just lip-syncing) have produced their own video. And it’s pretty good. In fact, I think it might even be better than the earlier video. But that’s just me.
I was quite happy to find this because after humming E.T. all day, now I can start singing “Wooookie…Woooookie…Kissyourbrother, kissyourbrother…”
Yes, life is good.

That was 4 minutes well spent. I was disappointed that they didn’t include the Harry Potter theme.
I think it was written circa 1999. Is that before the Harry Potter movies?
If I remember correctly, the song originally has references to waiting in line for Episode I.
