Flashback Friday
I know I promised earlier in the week that I was going to start a series of special, movie-related Flashback Fridays. And I will. It’ll just have to wait one more week. In light of the nice Arctic weather we’re experiencing this week, I’ve decided to call an ‘audible’ and play something that harkens back to warmer days and encourages us to look ahead to the day when the snow will melt and we will actually see a color other than white. So get out your beach towels and your flippers. Throw on your bathing suit and think about sunshine, oceans, and hot sand as you enjoy this week’s edition of Flashback Friday…
I’m adding a new feature, partially inspired by My Journey To Family’s Wacky Wednesdays,I’m digging up some of my childhood pictures. I’m sure I’ll regret it later since some of them could be pretty embarrassing. But that’s OK. If you can’t laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? Am I right?
Anyway, the picture above is of me in middle-school. Yep, that’s a buzz-type of cut. And that Plaza Park Middle School polo-style shirt is definitely stylin’! Admit it. I was adorable.
I know what you’re saying…“What happened?”
Right?
I think this picture might have been the same year that this song came out. I was definitely in middle school when the song was popular. I remember we had to create some type of commercial in math class. A group of girls took this song and re-wrote some the words saying something like, “Wipin’ out, wipe out….belly crud!” They were selling something to get rid of belly-button lint. Or something like that.
Hey, what do you expect? It was middle school.

That’s awesome! What else are we going to do with those photos? Let them sit in a box in the closet and do nothing? No! I say, bring them out, put them on display and let’s share the fun. Very cool!
Exactly. No need in running from the past. Why not embrace it?
Awww, I remember you then! Scary thing is you look like one of my students NOW!
That poor, poor child.
