Any Requests?
Because of my lifelong interest in film, I would generally try to catch some of the Academy Awards ceremonies every year. I rarely sat through the entire show, but I managed to catch the highlights. Now that the Golden Globes are over, the Oscar buzz has begun. I really don’t plan on watching the show this year. In fact, I haven’t watched the Oscars since Return of the King was nominated.
But because I showed a lot of interest in the Academy Awards during my formative years, I’ve decided to dedicate a series of upcoming Flashback Fridays to songs from movie soundtracks. I have a few that will definitely be on the list, but a family member suggested I take requests for this feature from time to time. I figure now’s the time to open this up to the masses.
What are some movie theme songs you remember from your childhood?
I can’t guarantee that I’ll post all of your suggestions. In fact, I won’t even promise that I’ll post any of your suggestions. But this could generate some interesting conversation.

I’ve come to find out that youtube might be throwing a big ol’ wrench into the fun that is Flashback Fridays.
Let’s enjoy the feature while it lasts, kids!
I always loved the Soundtrack to Disney’s cartoon Robin Hood. Especially the opening song (Robin Hood and Little John were running through the forest, oodelally…) and the one where they’re in jail.
ooooh – I hadn’t thought of that one. I love Robin Hood! That one might show up sometime soon.
I also like “The Phony King of England,” too.
