Rewind

The days have gotten away from me and I realized today that it has been more than two weeks since Mom visited us. I’ve been meaning to mention something about her visit, but haven’t for some reason. While Dad was in Oregon on his annual work-related conference (the same conference that gave us the opportunity to go on some amazing and memorable vacations), Mom spent the week up here in our neck of the woods, splitting the time with us and Kev/Liz/Caedmon.

We had a great time. I love spending time with my family and always wish I could spend more time with them. Everything’s just so…right…when we’re all together – even when everything else in our lives isn’t so right. And the more I’ve come in contact with other families, the more I’ve come to realize that what we have is something rather unique and quite special.

OK, enough sappiness for one post.

One of the highlights for the kids during Mom’s visit was the last full day she was here. For weeks, Christy had been building up this Summer Water Festival that we were going to have with the kids when Grandmama was here. And although Tuesday wasn’t as warm as it could be (it was in the low 70s with a slight breeze…not exactly the most conducive to playing the water all day), the kids still had fun playing in the pool (that Mom bought for them…thanks again, Grandmama!), on the Slip n Slide, with the sprinkler, and eating snow cones…
