Time for a Break

I posted several months ago that I really wished you could vote “None of the Above.”

I’m still wishing I could.

Since having a later primary has actually thrust my state into national political relevance for the first time in…uh…well…the first time ever, I’ve been inundated with Clinton and Obama ads. I’ve heard their platforms. I’ve actually received phone calls from supporters for the first time. Not impressed.

And no, I’m not a McCain fan, either.

Honestly, none of the candidates really excite me all that much. I can tell you what I am excited about, though. I’m excited that there won’t be another Presidential candidate rally in this area for a while. The stage show the two candidates have put on, pretending they care about Hoosier concerns has grown tired. Now that the Indiana primary is over, they don’t have to put on the show and pretend that they honestly give a rip about the voters here.

Seriously – how many times will either the Democratic nominee or McCain actually step foot in this state again during the Presidential race? Indiana doesn’t have that many electoral votes. In the grand scheme of things, we’re pretty insignificant, aren’t we? That would be a big ol’ yes, I do believe.

Sorry. I’m feeling a little cynical.

On a lighter note, I figured I’d share this video. I don’t really agree with the ultimate message of it all because…well…I still don’t like any of the candidates! But some of the video is funny, although it’s probably two minutes too long. Come on, I have ADD, after all. It takes a lot to hold my attention for five minutes. Especially when I’m not sold on your candidate. So, after that glowing introduction, it’s time to watch the movie.
