A Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On…I Guess (redux)
They say that pets tend to know these things are going to happen before they happen. I’ve heard several stories of dogs & cats waking people up right before the quake. Ours didn’t. Neither one of them. This can only lead me to conclude one of several things:
1.) They don’t care about us and would rather see the house to crash down around us.
2.) They tried to wake us and we ignored them.
3.) They were too distracted with the new guinea pig in our room and they spent the whole night trying to figure out how to pry open the cage and get their paws on the 6-week old creature. I think Bella thinks it’s a play-toy.
Yeah – did I mention we got a guinea pig? It’s officially Alyson’s guinea pig. The guinea pig of a classmate of Christy’s recently had a whole litter of guinea pigs. She gave us one for free. Alyson’s been asking for a guinea pig for a while and…well…you can’t get better than free!
Christy brought him home Thursday afternoon. I’ll try to post pictures soon.
See? This place really is becoming a zoo! Maybe we should try to get accredited by the AZA.
