Relief
I’d thought the whole coaching search was going to turn into a big joke, with the athletic administration destined to approaching coaches and asking them, “Would you be our friend?”
Fortunately, my fears have been relieved. It appears that Tom Crean of Marquette is going to be the new coach at IU.
On the surface, it definitely sounds like a good hire. I certainly hope he’s squeaky clean. I really wanted to say ‘squeaky Crean,’ but that was just too corny. But hey – it is Indiana, after all!
I’m already hearing people say the Hoosiers are now the ‘Crean and Crimson.’
Ah-ha, ha-ha-ha.
