Gimme a Break
It’s Spring Break for both Christy and the kids. You never know – this might be the only time that their Spring Breaks coincide for a long time. So, Christy’s making the most of it. We were originally going to take a few days and go to Nashville, Indiana. But with the unpredictability of both gas prices and weather, we decided it might not be the wisest thing. Have no fear – there are still all kinds of things planned for Spring Break 2008!
Monday – Met mom and dad at Steak and Shake for lunch. Christy and kids spent the rest of the day recovering from a busy Easter weekend while I worked in the office.
Tuesday – Christy took the kids shopping and then we all met at the movie theater to watch Horton Hears a Who. It was decent. The kids liked it, and that’s the important thing, right? I was a little surprised at how tense it got at the end. I wonder if it was frightening to younger children.
Today – Christy and kids went to IHOP for breakfast (I understand the kids ordered the special Horton Hears a Who breakfast…imagine that!) and are spending the rest of the day at the Indy Zoo. Alyson said she didn’t want to drink any chocolate milk on the way down there, since she remembers that it made her sick when we went to the Zoo in Knoxville a few years ago. Yes…that kind of sick…in the car…it wasn’t pretty. As for me, I’m doing what I normally do on Wednesdays – getting ready for Bible Study tonight.
Thursday – I don’t know if we have anything planned. We were going to go to Dayton and visit the Air Force Museum, but the President had other ideas. He wanted to go there, too. So the museum is closed to the public on Thursday. Because of that, he has lost my vote in the next election (wink, wink).
Friday – Off to Dayton to see some pretty cool airplanes. I hope the kids have fun.
That’s this week in a nutshell. As my Uncle was once commanded by the Soviet bus driver in Moscow in the 1970s when he got off the tour bus, “We will have a good time.”
