An IU Poem

Sampson lied
IU’s season died.

I know. Creative, huh? But that’s about all I have to say right now. Thanks a lot, Kelvin! You certainly left a nice mess in the wake of your own self-destruction. I hope you’re proud of yourself.

I just got back from watching IU in the Big Ten Tournament. I have caffeine coursing through my veins because I didn’t want to fall asleep driving home. I really want (& need) to go to bed, but my mind won’t stop racing. I can’t get that last shot out of my mind.

I have some videos and pictures from the game that I’ll share. But not now. Not tonight. I don’t know if I want to cry or just laugh. Laugh was all I could do after the shot.

And now? I just want to crawl into bed and sleep. For days. But I just can’t get that image out of my mind’s eye. And I can’t stop hearing the Gopher fans erupt in celebration. The same euphoric celebration I was part of a mere 1.5 seconds prior.

Just 1.5 seconds…
