From the Satellite Office

I’m tucked away in a corner of Panera Bread (aka my satellite office), working on my sermon and writing a series of posts that will be shared on this week. I like the atmosphere. When I’m not listening to something online (as I am now), the music they have piped over the speakers is soothing. I’ve been able to have a few conversations here, but it’s also a place where I can focus on my work. In the church office, I find all of these other things that need to be done and I get sidetracked. The same is true when working in my office at home. I always find something else I can do when I’m at home. And the Internet access is free (although it’s limited during peak times).

Plus, there’s free refills. And I get free samples! I got to try a sausage and egg sandwich with Vermont cheese on ciabatta bread this morning. Oh, so tasty!

So, I’m sitting in the corner over here, as far away from the entrance as possible. It keeps me out of traffic and as far away from the chilly weather as possible. And this lady walks in and I could smell her perfume from half a store away!

I’m thinking she might have put it on a little thick this morning. But that’s just me.
