Yep, it’s a rivlary again
I was listening to 1260 WNDE this afternoon, and they’re broadcasting live from Bloomington in preparation for tonight’s IU/Purdue battle.
JMV had Hoosiers greats Todd Leary and Brian Evans (Pat Graham joined them later) on the show for a while and they started taking calls from the audience.
Unknown Purdue Apologist: Hey, why are you guys having so many IU guys on your show today? Are you having trouble finding Purdue guys because they actually have jobs and they’re all at work?
Todd Leary: No. They’re having trouble getting the Purdue guys to wake up because they got up at 4 in the morning to plow their fields.
Yes, the “Purdue is a farmer’s school” smack is back in full swing. That’s a definite sign that the rivalry has returned and is as heated as ever (as it should be).
Even though DJ White is warming up now and is expected to play in tonight’s game, I’m still quite nervous about them playing the Boilers. This game should be tough. Although I’d love to see Purdue get run out of the building! Doubt it’ll happen, though.
Enjoy it while you can. After IU does the right thing and lets Sampson go, I have no idea how long it will take for the Hoosiers program to recover. And it’s a shame, too. Sampson was so much fun to watch during the Michigan State game. He’s so dang likable.
Likability doesn’t give you permission to bring a cheating scandal to one of the cleanest programs in the country, though.
