Checking in
I realize I haven’t really posted much that isn’t sports or Christmas related in a while. Sorry. Not much going on. The kids are back in school and loving it. Christy’s back in school and starts her student teaching tomorrow, which makes all of the classwork she’s done finally worth it. Church is going well. Shoot, even the dogs are doing fine (except Bella is in another chewing phase again…we can’t leave chapstick or markers within her reach or she’ll annihilate them).
Had a bi-annual meeting with the Elders about areas all of us are doing well and where we can improve. It went really well. I’m so impressed with the overall attitude and concern with the leadership here.
Christy and I took the kids to see The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything with the youth group on Sunday afternoon. It was a pretty good movie. Not the best movie I’ve ever seen, but definitely not the worst, either. Since we’ve been here, I’ve taken the kids to see Underdog, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and now the Pirates. Pirates was the best of the three, with Underdog coming in a close second. I was a little disappointed with Jonah when it came out a few years ago. It wasn’t bad. It just didn’t impress me as much as I’d expected it to. For me, Pirates was a step up from Jonah.
That’s about all that’s been going on right now. It’s supposed to snow…again. At least it’s not supposed to be as bone-chillingly cold as it has been the past week. It’s warming up to the 20s and 30s. But – like I said – it’s supposed to snow again. I’m ready to see some color outside! I’m tired of just seeing white!
