A Family Tradition
Christy and Alyson have begun a family tradition for the Christmas season. They get all dressed up and go see a local production of The Nutcracker (I talked about it once here). We originally thought it wasn’t going to happen this year because Christy bought tickets to go this past Saturday. That’s right – the Saturday that it was supposed to snow and snow and snow some more was also the Saturday they were planning on driving to Anderson, which is a good twenty-five minute drive in good weather. Of course, they weren’t predicting snow when the tickets were purchased. Makes me so glad long-term forecasts are so accurate!
Christy was getting ready to give the tickets to a classmate who lives closer to Anderson when she realized that the box office had printed tickets for the wrong day. Instead of having tickets for Saturday’s performance, she had tickets for Friday’s instead. So – as soon as class was over, she rushed home and the girls got all ‘gussied up,’ ready for a night on the town.
Thank God for the little things, I guess. They had a great time and didn’t have to worry about missing out on their annual tradition!
So what did Aiden and I do? We’ll, that’s another post for another time. Let’s just say we had to make lemonade out of lemons. We still had fun, though!
