Influence
For the past week or so, reports have been flying around that Fox 59 was going to try to get the broadcast rights to show the Insight Bowl on local TV. This would be great for me since I, like the majority of central Indiana Hoosiers, do not have access to the NFL Network. On Tuesday evening, I sent an email to Fox 59 voicing my support for such a decision and that I’d definitely watch it. In issues like this, I’m sure there’s a question of whether it would be cost-effective to pay the kind of cash I’m sure the NFL Network would require. I wanted to add my voice to the supporters.
Yesterday afternoon, less than 24 hours after I sent my email, I heard the announcement that Fox 59 will, in fact, carry the Insight Bowl on local TV. Finally, someone who actually cares about the fans!
Wow – I didn’t realize my voice carried that much weight. 🙂
Now if I can just get the Big Ten Network and Comcast to quit their bickering. Some causes are just lost…

Insight Bowl
Since you are so effective at getting it broadcast in Indy, would you consider providing some pointers on how we can get it broadcast in other places (e.g., Evansville…… and no, we are NOT in Kentucky!).
Re: Insight Bowl
No idea. I guess I’d contact one of the local stations. I know the network want it available to as broad an audience as possible, so it would have to be one of the network stations (WEVV, WFIE, etc.). Emailing them might help. Here’s contact info…
WFIE (NBC – channel 14)
WEHT (ABC – channel 25)
WEVV (CBS – channel 44) – they don’t give you much by way of contact resources
WTVW (FOX 7)
I realize you can find all of these on your own, I figured I’d save you a step. 🙂 Let me know if anyone responds. I’d be curious what they say.
Insight doesn’t carry the NFL Network? For some reason, I thought they did.
