I need a game
I need a game that I can play with some kids this Sunday at the beginning of my sermon. It needs to be something about deciding if something is real or fake.
Any ideas?

Idea: Line up pictures of Santa, the Easter Bunny and Jesus. They can all vote about which one is real.
How old will the kids be? How about doing a slide show of pictures of things.. like Transformers, Trees, etc. Then they can move to the left side or the right side depending on if they think the picture is of something that is real or fake.
How about lining up all of Christy’s diamonds and mixing in a few fake ones and having the kids point out the fakes.
How about telling three short stories about your morning.. like one could be that you stepped out of the parsonage and SNAP! a crocodile bit off the toe of your shoe so you had to preach in flip-flops.. and 2 true ones.. and they could tell you which one was the fake story. (ooh–like two truths and a lie..)
I mean, maybe it would help if we knew where you were going with it, but I hope these spark an idea..

My original idea was to have them come up and choose between a counterfeit and real dollar bill. Can’t get my hands on any counterfeit money, though. At least – not any that actually looks like money. I guess I could use Monopoly money if it comes down to it.
I like the Santa idea, but I don’t think it would fly.
The oldest kids would be around 10. Most are around my kids’ age. Two of the younger ones won’t be there this Sunday.
Sermon title: “Spotting a Fake” Main idea: You know the difference between what’s from God and what’s from the enemy by paying attention to God, not the faker (Satan). And yes, I’m still in 1 John.
Does that help?
