Asheville
Christy took her mom and the kids to Asheville yesterday. The Hands On Museum in Johnson City has a reciprocal relationship with a bunch of other museums, including the Western North Carolina Nature Center. Since we’re members (we got a good deal in September), admission was free for them at the nature center. They spent the day there and then walked around downtown Asheville for a while (Aly loves walking through cities), including a stop at The Chocolate Fetish (big surprise there!). The owner even let the kids try to pick up the huge, ten-pound bars of chocolate they use to make their devilish desserts. The kids had a great time. I think Christy and Granmda did too.
One of the kids’ favorite animals is the otter. I have to admit, when otters are playing around, I think they’re pretty cool, too.
The kids thought it was cool that this vulture was spreading out his wings for them.
I’m not sure what they’re doing. Petting the wolf?
What better way to top off a day trip to Asheville than ice cream?
