Do they make lock boxes for knives?
Christy and the kids were outside doing some general yard work. Aly was off raking some leaves in a corner. She was talking to herself, which is pretty common. Her mind’s always running, so she just has to get the words out sometimes. Here’s what Christy overheard:
“I’m cleaning this out for my kitty. When Daddy dies, then we can get a kitty.”
I know she wishes we could get a cat. We can’t because I’m allergic to cats. Guess Aly put two and two together and decided that a cat is in her future once I’m out of the picture.
Does this mean I need to get a lock box for our knives?

not to start something, but just as an fyi… if you *really* want a cat, there is a breed of cats that are non allergenic. my sister and her girlfriend (who are both EXTREMELY allergic to cats) have two and have had 0 problems. if you’d like to know the name of the breed, i can ask. (they are ugly, no, they aren’t the hairless things. these guys have hair. but still ugly)
just to give you the option of having a kitty before you die. 😉
shhhh…
We’ll keep this our little secret (for now).
Of course, if she starts looking for the knives or asking me questions about arsenic, then we’ll look into it.
I don’t think a cat would be a bad thing – just not right now. We already have enough of a zoo. Thanks for the “heads up” though!
What a Girl
NO! you don’t need to lock up the knives! We all just have to remember these two Quotes and share them with others. I have always said that girl is going to do something very important in her lifetime and I hope I am here to see it.
Re: What a Girl
Yep – she’s special, that’s for sure! I hope you’re around to see her do whatever she’s going to do, too!
Re: What a Girl
She’s already doing it–she’s amusing us all. I stand in awe of her.
Remember when Aly layed an egg?
The Egg
Did I post that on here? I can’t find it.
I know I posted it on here. It was too classic not to post on here! I have to find that.
Re: The Egg
I don’t know if you posted it on here–any chance that it was BB–before the blog? I just remember Christy telling the story.. Still one of my favorites!
Re: The Egg
I’ll find the email Christy sent to me and (re)post it so the world can share in the joy of this story…just in time for Easter!
Re: The Egg
The story has been found! Look here.
Now all is right with the world.
I laughed so hard I had to call Joanie at work and share with her.
Before she kills you, let her know that she can come and visit Alathea anytime she wants.
I’d do anything to save my fearless leader! Even sacrafice my cat’s sanity…
I’m that kind of girl…
I’m so glad you get to laugh at my impending doom. 😉
Thanks for offering your cat. We might take you up on it.
