Hoosiers in a Strange Land
I always think it’s funny when the announcers on the Selection Sunday show say that the committee tried to place the teams in pods as close to home as possible. Then they announce IU’s draw and they always wind up playing in the West…usually in California. How is that as close as possible? If Hawaii or Alaska were an option, I guess you could say California’s closer. It shouldn’t matter that much, though. The Hoosiers came out of California in ’02 on their way to the national championship game. I just think it’s funny.
Kelvin Sampson is scheduled to be on The Jungle tomorrow. Gotta bring in some of the coveted “Jungle Karma”.
I’m glad IU plays the Zags in the first round. It’s essentially the same teams – sans Gonzaga’s star last year and sans Mike Davis. That sounds like a perfect formula for the Hoosiers to exact some revenge for last year’s loss.
Go Hoosiers!

I was thinking, since we’re both on Spring Break and the game starts at 9:45 p.m. and Thursday, we should probably watch it together. Zaga had a good year last year, and IU needs all the good ju-ju they can get for the tourney. You can wear your shirt and pretend you’re the coach and I’ll paint little IU’s on my face in Joanie’s red lipstick (she won’t notice;) It’s a new Gray’s Anatomy night, but IU needs me more….
Stupid North Carolina plays at the same stupid time. The stupid local station will most likely carry that stupid game.
If that’s the case, there are two options – I signed up to be able to watch the game on the ‘Net, but there’s no guarantee we’ll be able to get access, since there’s a limited number of people who can be signed on at one time; or go to a sports bar to see if they’re showing the game.
Which would be your preference?
