Dear NFL Fat Cats,
There’s a reason people call you the “No Fun League.”
This story is just one of many examples.
You have nothing to gain by forbidding such events. In fact, it only makes you appear out of touch with the common folk. Keep it up and you’ll run off the average person.

That’s ridiculous. How does it cost the NFL anything for people to watch the game together? If anything, it benefits them to have people who have people who don’t normally watch coming just for the party. If I were a hospital employee, I would show it in the chapel, and the could kiss my chaplain behind.
PS I can’t believe that you have a tag for “abuse of power.”
Yeah, I can’t believe it either. It’s what it is, though. I realize that something like sports is somewhat insignificant on the “abuse” scale, but the other non-sports examples are abuse, aren’t they?
The NFL is making some noise about Nielson ratings. Then why allow bars to do it? Oh that’s right – Budweiser is a major advertiser. I’m sure that has nothing to do with it, though.
Maybe those people who put up the billboards that speak for God (“What part of ‘Thou shalt not’ do you not understand?” – God…”We need to talk…” – God…you know what I’m talking about) should buy an ad during the broadcast. Then they’d let the churches do it.
The article makes it sound like Indiana is the only place they’re having Super Bowl parties in churches – and that this is the first year they’re doing it. I did Super Bowl parties every year during my Youth Ministry days in Indy. I’m also pretty sure they had one at our church in Kentucky.
It’s just plain ridiculous.
