Halloween pics

Gimme some candy!

OK – I’m a day late. Sorry about that.

The picture quality is a little off. I’m not sure what’s wrong with our camera. I tried different settings and things just weren’t coming out right.

Anyway, we went to Milligan’s Trunk or Treat shindig, where the kids came away with way too much candy (that’s what Halloween is for, right?)! On the way home, we stopped at Mr. Blair’s & Miss Paula’s. This picture is at their house.

Ahoy! Pirates!

The Milligan students were in the middle of a contest. The trunk with the best decoration, costumes, and candy won a gift certificate. Many of the students went all out!

This trunk (it’s actually the bed of a truck…but who cares….really?) became a pirate ship, complete with a Jolly Roger, treasure chest, and pirate-themed music.

“Yo ho, yo ho! A pirate’s life for me!”

Costume Contest

While the kids didn’t win any prizes for the costume contest, I still think Alyson’s was one of the most original. It just took too long to explain everything about it…

Originally, she wanted to be a rock star. So, we put together a rock star costume. A few weeks ago, she changed her mind and wanted to be a kitty cat. Then, a few days later, she put them together and said she wanted to be a kitty cat rock star. So that’s what she was – a kitty cat rock star!

I felt like we cheated with Aiden’s this year. I’m sure this spoiled me, but I remember mom making most of my costumes for Halloween. She made my Chewbacca outfit, which we used as an Ewok outfit the next year. She made Kevin a Yoda costume. I also remember wearing clown costumes that she made. I’m sure there were more. Because of the nature of Aiden’s costume and the fact that we needed it so early for the Pet Parade, we bought his costume on sale (it was $49.99 at Target. We got it at TJ Maxx for $19.99!) and didn’t have to put much creativity into it. Maybe next year…
