Jesus is Coming Soon!

Since we’re down to double-digit number of days before Christmas, it’s probably a good time to start dropping hints for this year’s Christmas list. If anyone would like to buy me an early Christmas present, feel free to get me tickets to the October 24 performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. It’s part of the Broadway series that’s coming to town this season.

I know there are some who see this musical as an exercise in blasphemy. I’ll admit that it does come pretty close to the line at times. The music, however, is phenomenal. I also think they captured some of the attitudes and reactions of some of the characters (i.e. Herod) quite well.

I’d be happy to go to any of the other shows in the series, too: Man of La Mancha, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Cats…OK, I’m not too excited about Cats, but three out of four ain’t bad. Hey – I’d be happy with that in Hebrew right now! Have I mentioned how much it’s kicking my tail? Yeah – it hurts.
