New Students
New Student Orientation started yesterday. Today they’re having lunch brought in from Ridgewood Barbecue.
I’m jealous.
Almost makes me want to be a first-year student again.

Do not pity them. It sounds like one of the churches finked out. We were the lucky ones get a church lady potluck every day.
Didn’t we have Firehouse for one of our lunches?
If we did, I don’t remember. But I am p.O.d because they are letting the new students register early AGAIN! So, just like last year, I am probably going to be told that I can’t register because it is after noon, to which I will say “I was in line behind all the new students!” And they’ll be like, “Why didn’t you register over the summer?” and I’ll be, like “I tried- twice- but everybody said they didn’t think I could and they were too busy and the letter said I had to do it today!” And they’ll be like “I don’t know why it said that. THat’s not true.” And I’ll be like “Whether you register me or not, I’m going to class.”
Next year, show up as soon as you get your letter in the mail. Talk to Mary Ann and she’ll let you through. She hates the new computer system and will get as many people out of the way as possible before the new students come through.
If you want, I can email you when I register next year (as long as I remember to do so).
Yes – the communication between administration/staff/etc and students leaves quite a bit to be desired. I didn’t even know until last week that the school picnic was this past Friday night.
In spite of all that crap, I’m quite glad that I’m here.
I’m fairly certain we had barbecue sandwiches one day. It was still brought to us by a church lady group, but they had the food brought in. They wanted to bring us a “taste of local culture.”
Read: they were too lazy to cook.
