Anniversary
Our anniversary is in two weeks.
Any ideas on what we could do or where we could go? It has to be pretty cheap since our budget is tight until September. Feel free to share your ideas in the comment section. It’s a gamble, but I’m pretty sure Christy won’t see the discussion. If you really don’t want to take the chance of Christy reading it because it’s really, really cool, send me an email to mattdantodd “at” yahoo “dot” com.
Thanks ahead of time for any ideas.

Anniversary
How about a trip to Indy? Free lodging–we’ll even have a bed for you. Free childcare (obviously!) and all of the fun and memories that Indianapolis can provide. Plus I’ll make cookies.
? Sounds like a GREAT IDEA to me!
how about..
how about a theme night.. like New York.. or something else you guys have done together? Or how about a Choose Your Own Adventure game where she gets a list of 2 or 3 choices to start the evening and then after you do that, it leads to another set of choices. Kevin did that with me once. It was fun.. but you know I like games.
Re: how about..
That sounds interesting…could you elaborate further?
Re: how about..
Elaborate on which? For the choose your own adventure he gave me three cheap choices for the first activity–like walk around the circle in Indy, go to the pet store, walk on the Monon or something. (That wasn’t it, I really don’t remember!) And then, after we did that, there were three choices for dinner–Chinese, Picnic, or Italian or something. And then there were three choices for after dinner: see a movie, paint pottery or rent a paddle boat. Anyway, I totally made all of these up since I don’t remember. But I do remember that it was a fun night and I thought all of the little details that he put into it were really cool.
Re: how about..
Thanks for the ideas. They might come in handy.
I guess we can’t comment back and forth on this topic, because your response to my response was just emailed to me – and Christy checks that email address. So – from now on, just reply to the original post, I guess.
Re: Anniversary
While the cookies are appealing, I doubt we’d be able to make the trip. Especially if this is going to be a surprise. Thanks for offering!
a night of pampering is always a regal surprise.
start out with a clean house (that you’ve actually cleaned), with dinner prepared (if it’s nice out, having a picnic outside, blanket already set up with candles). don’t forget the chocolate dipped strawberries. then progress to a bath that has been set up for her with rose petals floating (one rose, for a buck, is enough to petal most baths properly) with candles and bubbles going. while she’s in the tub, offer to rub her feet or her shoulders, and feed her more of the strawberries. have the bed made with more petals and give her a massage.
all of this is cheap, easy and WILL be much appreciated. don’t forget to have the kids spend the night somewhere else (don’t know their ages, but friends, grandparents, good neighbors, whatever).
and, hey, happy anniversary!
Thanks.
It’s crazy, but I was thinking of you today. I was wondering how the transition to Tennessee life was going.
We’re always here if you have any questions need help with anything.
aw. thanks. it’s … going. we still need to find things to get into, and find more people to actually see, hang out with, talk to, whatever. but for the most part we’re adapting fine. my kid starts high school on monday (eek). hopefully i’ll get a job soon.
anyhow, hope your anniversary goes well!
